My Philosophy of Nursing

Being a nurse is more than a job; it is a way of life.  It becomes you wholeheartedly.  The genuine care and generosity know no limits.  It is an art of giving that affects lives in ways that we may never realize. Nurses take the time to teach you things, stand up for their patients and what they believe in, and provide loving care and support.
No nurse will tell you that it is an easy job, but they will tell you it is a rewarding one. Growing up, everyone wants to save the world. Being a nurse does not assure you of this, but what it does assure you of is that you will make a difference, by touching one heart at a time. You may touch your patients' lives, your patients' family's lives, or the lives of others working around you.  However, you will always be making a difference.  The end of the day does not always yield good outcomes, but nurses are there to be joyous with you in good times, and feel your sorrow in the not so good of times. They take your pain home with them, and sometimes don't let it go for days, years, or maybe they never do quite let it all go.  As a nurse you have the opportunity to heal the heart, mind, soul and body of our patients, their families and even ourselves.
